Fake friends aren’t worth your time. Kingdom People pursue authentic people and operate in faithfulness. We don’t do petty! We don’t repay evil for evil!! WE DON’T GIVE UP ON THE IDEA OF FRIENDSHIP!!! Friendship Is a Whole-Bible Theme The Bible tells the story of the creation, fracturing, and ultimate restoration of true friendship—friendship with God and also with each other. In the beginning, Adam and Eve enjoyed the fullness of friendship. But their sin led them into hiding (Gen. 3:8), and we’ve been hiding behind our own fig-leaf masks ever since. Yet God is restoring true friendship. He restores friendship with himself, as he did with Enoch and Noah, who “walked with God”—a Hebrew expression of friendship (Gen. 5:24; Gen. 6:9). Abraham was called “a friend of God” (Isaiah 41:8). Moses spoke with God “face to face, as a man speaks with his friend” (Ex. 33:11). He drew near to all who called upon Him with true faith. And then Jesus came as the great Friend of sinners, befriending all who trust and follow him. He came to lay his life down for his friends (John 15:13-15). Now all those befriended by God are brought into communities of friendships in the church. We can now befriend others as God, through Christ, has befriended us. Jesus Is Our Truest Friend Many Christians hesitate to call Jesus a friend. But Jesus doesn’t share our hesitations. And it matters to him that we embrace this. He invites us to understand our relationship on terms of friendship (John 15:12-17). We may need to exchange an either-or false dichotomy that says, “Jesus is our King, not our friend!”— for the biblical truth that says He is both. Jesus is our glorious king and our greatest friend!

We as Kingdom people can never abandon Kingdom Living because we feel that we have a right to — this is ALWAYS true. Our reasoning on earth never puts us above the ways of Heaven. Obedience is everything. Offense, frustration, anger, NOR ANY OTHER REASON ever gives us the right to walk away from following the word of God. Trust and obey. Whoever does so takes themselves out of Gods will. Once this happens your blessings, anointing and reputation are at risk. PLUS imagine all of the unnecessary pain. Any time you feel that your situation justifies wrong behaviors, consider the Cross. Jesus is both our savior and our blueprint. He was obedient unto death, without ever taking time to defend Himself.

“Generational Curses” - a word.

The one thing God isn’t going to do is fail. Let’s learn to trust God beyond what we see and feel. Every day challenges can test our trust in God. Fear and anxiety can rob us from faith. The future may seem uncertain right now, and worry keeps occupying too much room in your heart, in your mind, but remember this: God is already in all of our tomorrows. The Bible assures us that He knows our way, and He has a plan. And we can trust God's way is the best way for us. God's timing is perfect. We may never know why certian things happen during our lives on earth, but we can trust that God's plan is for our good and that He goes before us. Trusting in God doesn't mean we put on a smile and fake the appearance of faith - sometimes trusting God is crying out to Him in our pain. Our true hope is knowing that we can rejoice in the pain. God never asks us to figure it all out on our own. He just asks us to trust Him, to recognize His leadership and Sovereignty in our lives. And His promises in Scripture tell us that he makes our pathways straight. There is power when you trust God. Our security and peace can rest on God alone - not our own circumstances, other people, or our own ability. We can believe His Word when he says that he will not leave us nor forsake us. “Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.” - Isaiah 26:4 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” - John 14:1 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” - Joshua1:9 “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:19 “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.” - Psalms 9:10 “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” - Psalms 20:7 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” - Romans 15:13

If you want your anxiety to lessen make decisions that will increase your peace. Starve yourself of the things that feed your anxious thoughts. Start your day in prayer, worship and reading your word. Put the social media down, turn up the volume on your worship music. Call a friend to pray with, and NOT gossip with. You MAY have processed your situation ENOUGH. RECITE and PROPHECY the promises of God over your life! God promises to strengthen you. God promises to give you rest. God promises to take care of all your needs. God promises to answer your prayers. God promises to work everything out for your good. God promises to be with you. God promises to protect you. God promises freedom from sin. All of the promises of God are true — Yes & Amen! It’s Saturday, get to church tomorrow. You got this because Gods got you! 🙏❤️‍🔥🙌

If you were looking for a sign, this is it.📍 Pray. Journal. Brainstorm. Take the first step. Make the phone call. Get out and network. Make decisions today that you’ll be proud of 10 years from now. No need to announce it. Move in silence. You’re not doing this for anyone but for God & yourself. Watch your soul come alive.

Growth is necessary. However, no one said it was easy, and if someone did they were wrong. Letting go is difficult. Starting something new can be scary. It’s okay to let go quickly but I think it’s a mistake if you try to expedite the grief process. Grief is your heart, mind and soul catching up with either the decision you made or the circumstance you now find yourself in. Take your time. Reflect. Process. Breathe. Pray. Worship. Read. Rest. Through all of your processing, don’t feel guilty about your growth. Don’t ever confuse the emotions that come with growth as a sign that you shouldn’t move on. Those are just your growing pains. Every mature, successful, emotional healthy, man, woman and leader knows this and understands this. You can’t stay here. You’ve got somewhere to go. Rmbr, if you don’t evolve you will dissolve. Keep going. Keep growing.

Work on you so that you don’t become who you don’t want to be — ACCEPT TRUTH! So, victim or victor? There's a simple difference. The victim feels like things happen to them on purpose, that they have little or even no control over, and that it is always everyone else's fault. The victor feels like they can use a skill or develop an attitude or behaviour that will improve their position. “A wise man LOVES correction but a FOOL REJECTS IT.” - Proverbs 12:1 You’re nobody’s fool, especially not your own. Challenge yourself. Surround yourself with people that will challenge you. Accept the challenge and GROW FROM THERE! In other words, BE WISE and ACCEPT TRUTH! Side note, you don’t want “your truth”, you want THE TRUTH.

Here’s a few lessons for me, some of these I did learn early on and others not so much, but ALL are necessary for my children to know now; • There are certain moments to keep trying and other moments to walk away. It’s a skill to know when to hold on and when to quit and start something new. • If you don’t step out of your comfort zone you will never realize how great you could be. • Happiness is a choice and not something that you search for. • True happiness is only found in Jesus. • Taking some time for yourself is necessary. There’s a reason why the sabbath is a commandment. • Rushing anything helps nobody. • Just because someone says “The Holy Spirit told me…” doesn’t mean it’s true — They need to learn to hear the Holy Spirit for themselves. • People who talk down to you are never worth looking up to. • Dishonesty is thinking short-term while integrity has long term benefits. • Holiness is ALWAYS a priority. • Kindness is your greatest response. • Prayer is your strongest weapon. • The Word of God is to be read daily and applied always. • LOVE ALWAYS. • Never repay evil with evil. God is in control. • God > Family > Ministry > everything else — in that order!

Prayer is the answer 🙏 If you want to fight through life less then wrestle with God more. No matter WHAT you need to say, say it because God understands. Don’t even worry about HOW you say it, say it because God can handle it. It’s no secret that 2022 has been one for the books - well I don’t know where I’d be with out prayer. Pray in the morning. Pray in the evening. Pray in the moments in between. God listens. God responds. Prayer changed everything 💯🙏❤️‍🔥

I pray that as Dylan & Chloe get older they’ll look back proudly on their upbringing knowing that their parents are God fearing, Jesus following, Holy Spirit led, Sacrificial, Kindhearted, Generous, Forgiving, Structured, Disciplined, Spontaneous, Prayerful, Bible Reading, Teachable, Wise, Fun, Strong, Bold, and full of Love. I want them to know that we meant it when we said we’d do anything for them. I hope that they’d describe us as the best examples of Jesus that they’ve ever witnessed. Stop settling for 2nd hand revelation. Speak to the source! I’m NOT talking about your pastors and leaders. I’m talking about how we have traded our personal alone time w/ God for Podcasts, Books, Conferences, Retreats, etc… — ALL OF WHICH WERE CREATED TO COMPLIMENT YOUR TIME WITH GOD NOT SUBSTITUTE YOUR RELATIONSHIP W/ GOD. Do all of that BUT be sure to spend time w/ God first.

Gossip is like fast food, it feels good in the moment but kills the body over time. Please know this, whoever gossips to you is in fact a gossiper. A gossiper can not be trusted. If they gossiped to you they’ll gossip about you. If the gossip doesn’t match the history of what you were told, 9.9 times out of 10 it’s hearsay and heresy. I’ve been guilty of gossip. I’m sure most of us have. Let’s all pray: “Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.” (Psalms 141:3)

PRAYER LIFE BEATS CANCEL CULTURE EVERY TIME — Prayer works! The reason why many aren’t as quick to rely on prayer is because prayer takes longer. THE PROCESS OF PRAYER MAY TAKE LONGER BUT THE PROGRESS & RESULTS ARE ETERNAL. Can I get an AMEN?! 🙏❤️‍🔥🙌

When it comes to understanding our self-worth, perhaps the best way to get a grasp on it is to realize that self-worth, at its best, does not even come from ourselves, but rather from God. He chose us as His own before He established the foundations of the world (Ephesians 1:3–4). We were created in His image (Genesis 1:26–27). We have been fearfully and wonderfully made: "I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well" (Psalm 139:14). Upon establishing our belief in Christ, we are God's children and have an inheritance in heaven with Him (Ephesians 1:13–14). This shows that our truest self-worth comes from Christ. Our worth is not found in our own self but in Christ and who He has created us to be in Him. So, how much does God value us? Jesus Christ died for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:1–5). God gave us value by giving us His righteousness. "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21). Rather than basing our worth in our own "self," we should rely on God's authority on this. The fact that Jesus died on the cross, giving His life for us, tells us how much worth God has placed on us and how valuable we are to Him. God's thoughts are always on us—they outnumber the grains of sand on the earth. David wrote, "How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand …" (Psalm 139:17–18). The fact that God instills His worth in us outweighs any sense of self-worth we could try to instill in ourselves. God wants you. He chose you! You’re worthy because God says so. God measures our worth differently than mankind does: "… For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7). The best way we can find a sense of self-worth is to focus our attention on how God sees us and has placed His worth on us. He values us far more than anyone else, even ourselves, can. We have infinite worth because of Christ (John 3:16).

FRIENDSHIPS / RELATIONSHIPS: walk like an open door BUT NEVER BE A DOORMAT. Love always. Live wisely. This is how the Bible teaches us to deal with people. #kingdom

People often ask me, “what is the greatest mistake you’ve made as a leader?” Here’s my answer; I would often overcommit and underdeliver — I meant well. But let’s be honest, “meaning well” doesn’t matter. I really wanted to deliver. I wanted to hang out, go to dinner, grab the coffee, “meet up” but rarely did. Not because I didn’t want to but because I didn’t have the time. Unfulfilled intentions, no matter how good they are, will be interpreted as a lie. Lies are hurtful! Simultaneously, I did a poor job at setting boundaries. This combination is a recipe for disappointment and frustration. I gave too much access to too many people, in hopes that people didn’t feel that I was too distant. Thats my fault and nobody else’s. Plenty of people tried to warn me but I thought I knew best. What I’ve learned is that this mistake is common. I’ve also learned that this is what separates the good from the great. Great leaders set clear expectations and hold boundaries! Leaders, we have what we allow. (read that again). With that said, EXPLAIN your boundaries and KEEP your boundaries. Those that receive this and respect this are worth bringing in close. A thread on parenting — Let me preface this post by saying, I’m not the perfect parent by any means. With that said, here’s what I’ve learned in the last 15 years of parenting and being married to @yahrisdurso, you can do everything in your power to provide for your children but if you’re not informing them, teaching them and creating an environment where honesty is the norm you’re ONLY PRESERVING your children, NOT protecting them. Create a space for open dialogue where they don’t feel the need to censor their thoughts, feelings, insecurities, experiences, and questions. Let’s normalize transparency. We don’t just want our children to survive, we want them to thrive.

What you have is what God wants to use. There’s nothing wasted in the Kingdom of God! Your current platform will be your launching pad into your next — don’t despise it! Pay attention. Journal your feelings. Write down your experiences. Ask the Holy Spirit for understanding. The revelation you will gain is monumental for others healing. The wisdom that you will gain and the stories you will tell will lead others to great breakthrough. The enemy wants you to be embarrassed about what you have but he’s nothing more than a liar - USE WHAT YOU GOT Remember, nothing wasted. God will use it all for His glory.

A Leadership thread on Selfishness Vs Faithfulness. We all need to check our hearts. If we can’t put our selfishness in check we have no business playing a part on a team. NOBODY wants you to go. Work on your pride. Ask the Holy Spirit for help. Dive into the word of God. Study Romans 12. Have honest conversations w/ your team lead. Have honest conversations w/ your team members. Accept the critique and try applying it. Apologize. Study the mission statement. Give it time. And if after all of that you feel that you can’t change than please do so reverently, honestly and immediately. 🙏❤️‍🔥

Christian’s Today: “is it safe for me to help them? Or be seen with them? I don’t want people to get the wrong impression.” Jesus always: “if they’re breathing, I want to help them and don’t care who sees it.” Stop worrying about which people you should be helping. So often Christian’s, especially “Christian Leaders”, only want to help people that are “safe” for them to help! “What will people think?” “Will people think that I do what they do?” “Will people think that I did what they did?” Man, if they’re breathing and need help, HELP THEM!! If you love Jesus than put your hands and hearts where peoples pain is. As believers, we are charged to walk alongside each other in our pain. We are called to mourn with those who mourn (Rom. 12:14). We are to bear one another’s burdens (Gal. 6:2). We are to be compassionate, gentle, and patient with each other (Eph. 4:2; 1 Pet. 3:8). This is what Jesus did. This is what we He commissions us to do. Lets NOT allow it to be said about us that we had no problem going on missions trips to other countries to help people but weren’t willing to do it right where we live. We’re called to help all people, and that includes the ones we live next door to and the ones that don’t look or believe like us. You love Jesus? Good, now go love people! All of them!

We need you healed because Heaven has a plan. We need you healed because Hell also has a plan. You’re only Satan’s target because your purpose disrupts his plans! IT’S NOT REALLY ABOUT YOU! IT’S ABOUT SATAN WANTING HIS WAY! Your obedience to God and wholeness of self stops him. Satan can’t stand against a healed Saint. The most productive thing we could do is stop the enemy’s plans and play our part in Gods plan. Keep going, God has destined you to do so.

If I’m being honest, I didn’t want to share this but I couldn’t help what I felt The Holy Spirit wanted me to do. I’m not saying that I’m there, I’m just sharing what I feel is on it’s way. The Holy Spirit is about to use the healing of the redeemed to help the hurting to heal in a mighty way. The fake will fail and what’s real will rise. God is raising up a group of leaders that are simply seeking God without any concern of being SEEN by the masses. This is something that we as believers, especially leaders need help with. Those that desire obedience will experience influence as the byproduct. It’s not for the sake of celebrity but for Calvary! My Prayer: “Lord, strip me of any pride! Do a great work in me! Whatever you’re doing Lord, please don’t do it without me! Amen.” 🌊 🙌❤️‍🔥 I’m excited for what God has planned.

There’s nothing like the love of our God. The word LOVE gets casually thrown around, and we're quick to say we "love" certain people or certain things. But as John Mayer once sang: "love is a verb." ⁠⁣⁠ ⁠⁣⁠ Love requires action and intentional effort to come alongside people we love, and walk with them through the highs and lows. ⁠⁣⁠ ⁠⁣⁠ Love is both constant and consistent. This is what Jesus did for us. ⁠⁣ This is what Jesus does for us. ⁠⁣⁠ He didn't just say He loved us - He came to earth, dwelt amongst us, and showed us. Even now He is with us, loving us each and every day.

Leaders, we can’t die in the comfort of our traditions. Our preferences may keep memories alive but they won’t keep movements going. We have to keep going. We have to keep growing!

Removing the people in your life that cause you pain is tough but so necessary. I hope this post encourages you to do what’s best for your mind, body and soul.

You can’t help everyone! A crisis should cause concern, but a concern alone is not proof of calling. Sometimes helping others can hurt you. Here’s what you need to know; Will me helping this person with this problem produce a problem for me?” I’m sure I’m not the only one that has made the mistake of responding to every crisis that I’ve come across.

Be encouraged, it is possible to trust God even when life doesn’t make sense — can anyone else relate? The words translated “trust” in the Bible literally means “a bold, confident, sure security or action based on that security.” Trust is not exactly the same as faith, which is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). Rather, trusting is what we do because of the faith we have been given. Trusting is believing in the promises of God in all circumstances, even in those where the evidence seems to be to the contrary. Hebrews 11 talks about faith, which is accepting and believing the truth that God reveals about Himself, supremely in the person of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, the practical consequence of faith in God is trust, which we prove by living out our full acceptance of God’s promises day by day. Furthermore, it is by this trust that we are promised peace: “You will keep in peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3). Martin Luther said, “Pray, and let God worry.” The classic verse regarding trust is Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” This verse sums up the Bible’s teaching on trust. First, it is the Lord in whom we are to trust, not ourselves or our plans, and certainly not the world’s wisdom and devices. We trust in the Lord because He and He alone is truly trustworthy. His Word is trustworthy (Psalm 93:5; 111:7; Titus 1:9), His nature is faithful and true (Deuteronomy 7:9; Psalm 25:10; 145:13; 146:6), and His plans for us are perfect and purposeful (Isaiah 46:10; Jeremiah 29:11). Further, because of God’s nature, we are to trust Him with all our hearts, committing every aspect of our lives to Him in complete confidence. Finally, we are not to trust in ourselves because our understanding is temporal, finite, and tainted by our sin natures. Trusting in ourselves is like walking confidently across a rotten wooden bridge over a yawning chasm thousands of feet deep. Disaster inevitably follows. When we trust God we always win.

There are “open doors” everywhere. Is the current opportunity or “open door” one that you have asked God for, according to His will? 1 John 5:14-15 tells us: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him” To pray for something according to God’s will is to ask God the Father for something on behalf of His Son, Jesus. In other words, ask for what Jesus would ask for. If that door represents something you have asked for, by faith, knowing God has heard you, and you have asked for God’s glory not your personal gain, it is likely a door He has opened in response to your request.

It’s not what’s on you, it’s what’s in you. God is for you and NO MAN can stop God! Be encouraged, for He has GREAT PLANS FOR YOUR LIFE!

Don’t avoid His way because IT WONT END WELL FOR YOU, no matter what your hurt, insecurities, and even “friends” are encouraging you to do. What is The Holy Spirit telling you to do? His true instruction will ALWAYS align with His word. If it doesn’t it’s NOT God! If you’re going through hardship right now, here’s your word; Stick with Gods way no matter how hard it seems! His word promises us that His way leads to great blessings and peace! #kingdom Hebrews 10:36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Proverbs 3:1-5 My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 1 Peter 1:7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ Psalm 18:30-32 As for God, his way is perfect:
    The Lord’s word is flawless;
    he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord?
    And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength
    and keeps my way secure. Ecclesiastes 8:5-6 Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure. For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery.

Pride is easy. Humility takes hard work. Business is easy. Rest takes hard work. Toxicity is easy. Health takes hard work. Denial is easy. Accountability takes hard work. Laziness is easy. Productivity takes hard work. Isolation is easy. Relationship takes hard work. Retaliation is easy. Keeping the peace takes hard work.

Nobody else can heal for you - that’s your responsibility. Many have asked where I’ve been, I’ve been healing and I’m feeling better than I ever have … We’ll talk all about it soon. Love you all!❤️‍🔥🙏

I’ve received a lot of great feedback from my previous post so I wanted to share some more in the thread above. I’ve obviously been on my own mental health journey, which I can’t wait to share more about it in the future. Be encouraged!

If you’ve dealt with trauma, have a family or work with people please read this thread. Jesus & Therapy. We have to do better so that those that’ll come after us can be better. “Raising children who are hopeful and who have the courage to be vulnerable means stepping back and letting them experience disappointment, deal with conflict, learn how to assert themselves, and have the opportunity to fail. If we’re always following our children into the arena, hushing the critics, and assuring their victory, they’ll never learn that they have the ability to dare greatly on their own.” - Brene Brown

Don’t ever apologize for the growth that’s taking place in your life. Run after the change without running away from who you were. Take the time to understand who you were, and then use it as a foundation to grow. The best advice that I can give you when it comes to this is; • Pray REGULARLY • START THERAPY • Ask yourself HARD QUESTIONS • Get around HONEST PEOPLE • Join a Bible Preaching Church I heard a great rapper once say; “People look at you strange, say you changed. Like you worked that hard to stay the same.” 🙌 In other words keep going and keep growing!
